What an amazing way to finish Year 12 at Edmund Rice College with an AFL Charity match, on Keira Oval, focusing on Reconciliation to bring the whole community together.
Prior to the first bounce, the captains of each team Jackson Tikkeros and Darcy Hennessy as well as College captain Roarke Curry presented message sticks made by the school to local MP’s
Sharon Bird MP and Stephen Jones MP. The message sticks made by students from the past and present signify the importance of reconciliation in Australia.
The students also handed over a cheque of $1,000 to Aunty Lorraine and Aunty Narrelle from Coomaditchie United Aboriginal Corporation. Coomaditchie has been involved in the College community for a number of years and is dedicated to raising the esteem, pride and dignity of young Aboriginal people in their Aboriginal culture and heritage.
Well done to everyone involved!
